Home Sweet Home: Why Prudential Network Realtors Love What They Do

Realtors are known for selling houses. And they ought to be, I mean, it’s what they do, right? Not according to the Realtors at Prudential Network Realty.

“We don’t sell houses,” said Prudential Network Realty Founder, President and CEO Linda H. Sherrer. “We sell homes. Our clients have a variety of needs; from individuals to families with children to empty nesters. It’s our job to get to know our clients, develop relationships and find the perfect place to hang their hat and call home.”

It was 1963 when Tom and Ellen Schifanella purchased the house that they, along with their three children, would come to know as home for the next 48 years.

“It was hard to let go of the home, but we were ready for a change,” said Ellen Schifanella as she describes putting their home up for sale. “It was important to sell to a family that would appreciate the home as much as we had. Elizabeth O’Steen and Susan Donnell at Prudential made letting go of a very important part of our life a little easier to bear.”

Exemplifying team work at its best, O’Steen and Donnell partnered with fellow Prudential Network Realty Realtors Josh Nugent and Dee Burnett, who were searching for a home for a young Navy couple relocating to Jacksonville.

“Josh and Dee were extremely patient with me as I made them revisit the home numerous times,” said Jessica Gerard, who fell in love with the home each and every visit. “We met Ellen and Tom and listened as they shared stories of living and raising children in the home. They described looking out the window and watching their daughter go on her first date. It gives me chill bumps because I know exactly what window they are referring to!”

Jessica said she ran into a woman at a local boutique and as she shared that she and her husband had recently purchased a home, Jessica found out that the woman was Ellen and Tom’s daughter.

“I keep a picture of Ellen and Tom and their family in my kitchen as a sweet reminder of what this home meant to them and what it means to me and my family,” said Gerard. “I can’t thank Prudential enough for making the transition to Jacksonville so welcoming and inviting.”

After losing her mother, Judy and her father decided to make the move to North Carolina in order to be closer to family. They had three properties between the two of them and the thought of selling all three in a difficult market, in addition to finding a home in North Carolina, became overwhelming.

“Debbie and Lynne took charge right away,” said Dial. “They kept me calm when I became anxious and told me that it would all work out and, it did. We sold all three properties in three months and they set us up with a Realtor in the Prudential office in North Carolina. They made sure that every detail was taken care of, making the transition during a difficult time smooth and easy for my father and me.”

Jen Locke and her husband were about to make their eighth move in 12 years with three young children in tow.

“As you can imagine, moving can cause a lot of stress,” said Locke. “But working with Lynne Ferguson from Prudential made the process of relocating to a new state more relaxed. Two of my three children have been diagnosed with autism so being close to a school that could accommodate their needs was our top priority.”

Ferguson, who has since become close friends with the Locke family, found a home in a school district that is well-known and respected for its Special Education program.

Lynne also sold the home next door, and when I met my neighbor, she told me she is a special education teacher at the school that my son attends,” said Locke. “Lynne put so much time and attention in making sure we found the perfect home for our family. She is truly a God-send.”
