Springfield Area Homes

The best way to describe the communities of Downtown and Springfield in recent years is that each area is undergoing a housing renaissance.

Along with new housing options come new entertainment and nightlife choices, such as the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art and the new main library, both surrounding Hemming Plaza.

Downtown is where you'll find the headquarters of two fortune 500 companies; Fidelity National Financial and CSX Corp. as well as the main campus of Florida Community College at Jacksonville.

Just north of Downtown is the community of Springfield, a vibrant neighborhood first established in 1869. Considered Jacksonville's first suburb, it is a Nationally Registered Historic District near art galleries, cultural events, sponting activities and great restaurants.

The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute at Shands Jacksonville is located in Springfield and it is also home to the Bank of America Symphony Showhouse.

North of Springfield is lies the area known as North Jacksonville. It offers access to great shopping at the new River City Marketplace, an open air mall, anchored by a 14-screen movie theater. North Jacksonville is home to lots of riverfront property and is close to I-95 and I-295.
