I was born in Jacksonville as was everyone in my family up to my great-great grandparents. I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then went on to graduate from NC State University in Raleigh, NC with a BS in Sociology and was a cheerleader at both. I mention that because I am a cheerleader for Jacksonville as well. Even though I was born here, it is still the city I choose to live in.
I came home to work in Jacksonville, the city I love, for Southeast 1st Bank opening new accounts and The Duval County School Board as an Assistant Principal for Community Education, starting the Extended Day Care Program in Duval County. During this time I became active in politics and worked for many years as a volunteer and as a paid employee at times, working on and helping to manage local and national campaigns. I then married and moved to Atlanta for several years and managed a Temporary Service Agency. We moved back to Jacksonville, had two children and after several years began working in my family's lumber business.
When that was sold, I decided I wanted to help my friends to buy and sell residential real estate and have been here ever since, through good times and in bad. What I have learned is that a realtor is not so much a salesman as an educator. Most customers come to me from friends and former customers. They have already decided they are going to buy or sell a home. They just need someone they can trust to help educate them on the market, the neighborhoods, the buying and selling process, and to help them make the most of their money! Isn't that what it all boils down to?
